Evfimia, Cephalonia #
A sketch made in the Greek Island, of an enchanting little bay. The background mostly of carded Southdown fleece which has been dyed, with the foreground of various wools and some silk to give different textures.

Sissinghurst Castle, Sussex #
This is the tower at Sissinghurst, where Vita Sackville-West did her writing, surrounded by the lovely garden she created with her husband Harold Nicholson. Southdown fleece was used for the background, with other wools and silk in the foreground, for the flowers.

Hamsey Church
Hamsey is a very small church, not used very much nowadays, viewed here from across the river Ouse, just north of Lewes in Sussex.

Doorway, Kerrune, Britanny
This was a doorway, leading through a dark shed, into a sunlit garden. Made of dyed fleece off different types of sheep.

Lewes Castle
This ruined castle is a reminder, that Lewes was a fortified town, laid out by King Alfred, in defence against the Vikings. It would have been a wonderful lookout, over the flat water meadows surrounding the Ouse, stretching away to the sea at Newhaven. Mostly made of Southdown fleece, with some knitting to give texture.

Lambing in Barn, Clayton #
This scene is early in the morning, with ewes standing at the manger in the distance. In the foreground the fatter ewes are patiently chewing the cud and waiting for their lambs to appear, one enjoying a mineral lick. A few lambs in the foreground; the whole atmosphere very relaxed & cosy.

Towards Fiskardo, Cephalonia #
This picture was created from a sketch, painted while on holiday in the Greek Islands. It was made on a felt background, with strands of silk as the seed heads.

The Downs in Moonlight #
Visiting the lambing barn during lambing, entails a walk down a path. This was a moonlit night, with the railings and ivy covered trees very dark against the Downs shining in the moonlight, but the scene was ethereal and lovely. Wool was used mostly, with some silk.

Keymer Post Dew Pond
This is up behind our farm, where the South Downs stretch away to the sea. The fields make a patchwork of colour and the clouds seem quite near. Dyed fleece with textured wool for foreground.

Vineyard in Cyprus
This was a little vineyard, outside Pissouri. The owner was at work and had left his refreshments ready to revive himself! Made mostly from carded fleece from Southdown sheep and some lustrous Leicester locks. Some crochet work as well.
