Pre-Photo Walk or Workshop Information

What Equipment to Bring:
Your DSLR and plenty of memory and frershly charged batteries, including a spare or two. In addition should you own a tripod or monopod, wide angle and macro lenses and remote release please also bring these items. If in doubt contact Ian.

Clothing and Personal Gear:
we live the UK so expect the unexpected and the fact that the Met Office are really 'weather guessers'. Comfortable footwear is must, as is a decent camera backpack for longer and 'off-road' photo walks. Seasoned walkers will no doubt have the relevant gear; for those new to photo walking by all means contact Ian to discuss suitable clothing etc.

Meals and Refreshments:
Generally UK Photo Walks and photography workshops are self-catering unless stated to the contrary. Be sure that you have ample liquid and solid provisions as whilst not always too far from civilisation, there may not be a convenient store to where we start/finish a walk.

Relevant Medical Conditions:
Please be aware of the UK Photo Walks endurance/fitness rating for your photo walk or workshop. With this in mind, if you have had, or currently suffer from, a medical condition or disability that you feel we should be aware of then please inform us before the course by contacting us in confidence via e-mail at ian@ukphotowalks.com or training@parkcameras.com prior to your workshop.

Other Information:
Please listen carefully to the guidelines provided to you at the start of the day and that these are adhered to for both your safety and enjoyment. In addition, please come prepared with sturdy outdoor shoes and clothing to suit all elements of the British weather. Should you encounter any difficulties on the day when travelling to your workshop or photo walk, please contact Ian Pack before in plenty of time on 07710 814665 and leave a voice or text message.

Be Prepared:
Urban photo walks are generally very well served by public conveniences or suitable establishments providing such facilities. Photo walks away from the urban environment may not benefit from such luxury, so be prepared to make use of the green facilities.

Arrival Times and Finish Times:
Please arrive well in advance of the published arrival time to check-in and get yourself and gear ready. The published start time is the time we start walking!

The finish time is published for guidance and may be earlier or later depending on the needs and desires of the group. Before the walk we will discuss potential photo-opportunities for the walk and anything members of the group want to achieve, which will dictate to some extent to time we return to our transport. Walkers do not have to stay to the end of the walk and should let the walk leader know if they intend leaving early.

Travel Arrangements & Navigation:
If in doubt about any aspect of travelling to or finding a particular photo walk location, please contact us in advance of the photo walk for assistance. All photo walks have been fully researched and walked by Ian or Ben.

Cancellation Policy:
UK Photo Walks recognises the need for individuals to cancel or alter course bookings from time to time. Alterations to attend other photo walks or workshops can be made up to a two weeks before the date of the original booking, after which time a 50% charge based on the value of the initial course will be operated. Customers looking to cancel their course booking altogether will be subject to the following charges:

In addition to these charges please note that UK Photo Walks reserves the right to cancel or rearrange courses subject to appropriate warning being given to attendees. In this case, a full refund will be provided to all customers who have purchased a place on the course with every measure being taken to ensure that a satisfactory alternative is found.

*Refreshment breaks on some photo walks and workshops may not be practical. This being the case, we will advise you to bring your own drinks/water etc.
